Adult Protective Services
Endangered adults are individuals who are 18 years of age or older who are incapable of managing self-care or property because of a physical or mental incapacity and who are harmed or threatened with harm as a result of neglect, self-neglect, battery, and/or exploitation.
Investigate to determine if an individual is an endangered adult; determine nature and extent of allegation; coordinate with law enforcement and other entities; monitor protective services for effectiveness; initiate criminal actions; advocate for the endangered party; facilitate emergency medical treatment, provide referrals for appropriate housing, in-home service, or other social services.
