Kids’ Voice of Indiana authors and publishes a comprehensive reference guide called the Indiana CHINS and Family Law Deskbook. The Deskbook is a legal textbook designed for attorneys, judges and social service professionals. This publication is a highly valuable resource that provides statutes and case law in the areas of CHINS, Termination of the Parent-Child Relationship, Guardianship/Third Party Custody, Adoption, Paternity, and CASA/GAL.
The Deskbook compiles statutes and case law, separates them out by topic, and organizes them in a natural progression through that topic. The Deskbook synthesizes, harmonizes, and condenses all the information down in a way that makes it much more accessible for people newer to this area of law, and provides experienced professionals quick access to information on a niche topic.
The Indiana CHINS and Family Law Deskbook was originally published in December 2017, with a supplement released in 2021. The latest edition of the Deskbook was published in 2024. An online version of the 2017 Deskbook is currently available, and we are working on making the 2024 edition accessible online.
